Our Story
We Met in Chicago.
It was 2007 and the alumni of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University were moving in a mass exodus to Lincoln Park. Away from Ann Arbor and East Lansing, the transplanted sought refuge in the familiar. So there we were. Dre, a wolverine. Laura, a spartan. We found ourselves in a wonderful web of high school friends, college friends, work friends and craigslist roommates. We spent our weekends at the same dive bars. We said hello at brunch. We hung out at 509. We wrote on each other's Facebook walls (when that was a thing). We remembered each others halloween costumes. We had chance run-ins at Old Town Art Fair. We joked about being college rivals. We took pictures together at birthday parties. We laughed a lot.
We were friends.
And then seemingly out of nowhere, in the summer of 2012, on a boat in Lake Michigan, after many years spent falling in love with the city we call home; we took the first step to falling in love with each other.
It was a million little moments that lead us to this very big one.
Short Version: we don't really know when we met, but we are so glad that we did.
